Aims & Objectives
- Promote the ‘Good News/Great Commission’, faith-inspired culture, and Christian unity
- Celebrate, honor, empower, and nurture artistic excellence in faith-inspired artists
- Establish the Gospel Hall of Fame and Music/arts Museum, and promote Faith-inspired Tourism
- Equip and motivate Christian creatives to champion positive social, green, and civic responsibility
- Showcase Uganda’s diverse Christian-cultural heritage through inclusive platforms for ministry and artistic expression
Since 2007, it has recognized more than 3,960 nominees and honored over 500 winners—powering the careers of gospel artists and extending their reach and impact. In 2014, the VIGA Music Awards has built the Victors Community—a network of nominees, winners, and members that fosters collaboration while nurturing spirituality, wellbeing, and creativity. In 2022 it launched the Harmony 360 Initiative to cultivate self-awareness, civic pride, and global stewardship—anchored in faith and values—and introduced Social, Green, and Civic impact categories. In 2026, VIGA launched the Nominees and Artists Masterclass, an empowerment program that bridges the digital divide for faith-inspired artists through capacity building and mentorship, helping winners apply digital and other skills for social impact and commercial success. Through this holistic approach, VIGA Music Awards shapes lives and communities by inspiring and nurturing talent with passion and purpose.

Faith-inspired music touches people across ages and backgrounds. It encourages harmonious living—peace, love, reconciliation, hope, unity, joy, prosperity, positive morals, family values, environmental consciousness, and above all God’s provision, mercy, and salvation. Against this background, the VIGA Music Awards annually motivate, empower, recognize, and reward outstanding faith-inspired creatives whose work reflects these ideals. VIGA is here to stay, because faith-inspired music endures. Think of hymns like Amazing Grace, The Old Rugged Cross, and It Is Well with My Soul, still resonating today. In Uganda, faith-inspired music is growing fast and gaining the recognition it deserves. The Awards serve as a catalyst in this process, and we promise a godly, excellent, world-class event every time.
