Results of Prabowo’s Visit to Two Super Power Countries, Russia and France, What Are They?

JAKARTA – President Prabowo Subianto has completed a short two-day visit to two super power countries, namely the Russian Federation and France. The visit focused on strengthening bilateral relations and the strategic direction of cooperation between the two countries.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said that during the series of visits, President Prabowo had an important meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. After that, President Prabowo left for France to meet with President Emmanuel Macron.

“Mr President has just arrived from a short two-day visit to two superpower countries, countries that hold veto rights, namely meeting the President of Russia and then the President of France,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy in his statement at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Thursday (16/4/2026).

In a meeting with President Putin, the two leaders agreed to encourage increased cooperation in the energy sector in the long term. This focus is one of the main priorities in efforts to strengthen national energy security while opening opportunities for mutually beneficial strategic collaboration.

“The point is to increase long-term cooperation in the energy sector. Then the President specifically assigned the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources to meet with President Putin’s special envoy and also the Russian Minister of Energy,” he said.

In Russia, a follow-up meeting was held by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia with the Russian government. According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources has also reported the results of the follow-up meeting to President Prabowo.

“Then he held a meeting with President Putin’s special envoy and related ministers. And as a result, he reported to the President just now,” concluded Cabinet Secretary Teddy.
