A big message can be given in the state by giving big responsibility to the ministers of Yogi government whose performance has been better.
The way BJP gave priority to Dalits and OBCs in cabinet expansion. Among the six new ministers, three OBC and two Dalit ministers were made. In such a situation, there is discussion within the party about giving him a good portfolio instead of keeping him in the cabinet just for show. Departments of many ministers can be changed in UP
No minister has been removed in the UP cabinet expansion, but recently, work report of many ministers was called for. The Chief Minister himself reviewed many departments. In this, dissatisfaction regarding the functioning of the departments also came to light. In such a situation, after the cabinet expansion, there is a possibility of major reshuffle in the departments of the old ministers along with giving departments to the new ministers, but the focus is on the PWD department.
After the formation of the government in 2022, the PWD department was given to Jitin Prasad, but after becoming a minister in the central government in 2024, the responsibility of this department is with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. After the entry of Bhupendra Chaudhary in the Yogi government, the most talked about thing is whether CM Yogi can now hand over this department to Bhupendra Chaudhary or will Keshav Prasad Maurya get this department again.
Keeping in view the sensitivity of the Public Works Department, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has kept it with himself. Tremendous lobbying is being done from Lucknow to Delhi regarding PWD, but there is still suspense. Along with Bhupendra Chaudhary, rebel SP MLA Manoj Pandey has been made cabinet minister.
Manoj Pandey has been a minister in Akhilesh Yadav’s government, due to which he can also be assigned a decent ministry. Apart from this, everyone’s eyes are fixed on which portfolio the ministers with independent charge can get.
