The assets of Jeonju District Prosecutors’ Office Chief Lee Jeong-ryeol (33rd class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute) were found to be worth 8.8 billion won. Hong Ik-pyo, senior secretary for political affairs at the Blue House, is also worth 6.1 billion won.

On the 24th, the Government Official Ethics Committee published the ‘Status of Persons Disclosing Their Assets in April’ in the Official Gazette. The subjects are 92 current and former public officials whose status changed between January 2 and February 1 of this year.

Among current public officials, District Prosecutor General Lee Jeong-ryeol has the most assets at 8.773 billion won. These include 6,790.72 million won in real estate, including the Banpo Xi Apartment in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and land in Wonji-dong, Seocho-gu, jointly owned with the spouse, and 2,069.8 million won in deposits for the person, his or her spouse, and their two children. Chief Prosecutor Lee, who served as the first head of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors’ Office’s Virtual Asset Crime Joint Investigation Team during the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, does not own a single virtual asset or stock.

Following Chief Prosecutor Lee, Jo A-ra (34th class), Deputy Chief Prosecutor of Daegu High Prosecutors’ Office, ranked 2nd and 3rd, respectively, with 7,095.11 million won, and Ahn Seong-hee (34th class, Supreme Prosecutors’ Office Trial and Litigation Department Chief) with 6,642.37 million won. Jang Hye-young (34th class), head of the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office’s scientific investigation department, is 5,016.9 million won, and Park Jin-seong, vice president of the Legal Research and Training Institute (head of planning department), is 2,946.02 million won. All of them were promoted to chief prosecutors in January of this year.

The wealth of Hong Ik-pyo, Senior Secretary to the Blue House for Political Affairs, is 6,078.35 billion won, a decrease of nearly 2.3 billion won in two years, considering that it was about 8.3 billion won when he was a member of the Democratic Party of Korea in 2024.

Next, Park Chang-geun, director of the National Land Safety Management Agency, 4.116 billion won, In Tae-yeon, chairman of the Small Business Market Promotion Corporation, 2.97 billion won, Lee Hyeon-joo, chairman of the Military Manpower Administration’s Alternative Station Review Committee, 2.422.66 billion won, Industrial Bank of Korea President Jang Min-young 1.67733 billion won, and Choi In-ho, president of Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) 1.6422 billion won.

Among retirees, Lee Mi-hyeon, a former audit committee member of the Board of Audit and Inspection, has the most assets at 10.46374 billion won. Most of the assets owned by the person, his/her spouse, mother, and eldest son are real estate, including 5.01637 billion won in land and 3.25601 billion won in buildings including the Yeouido Xi Apartment in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

Kim Byeong-wook, former Blue House political secretary and Democratic Party candidate for Seongnam mayor, followed with 7.55831 billion won.
