IT’S RELEVANT Fake skincare on the market causes many people to experience skin problems, ranging from irritation, redness, to severe acne. This condition often occurs due to unclear product contents or excessive use of skincare without giving the skin time to recover.
So, what should you do if you continue using fake skincare? Here are the first aid steps you can take.
1. Skincare Abal-Abal
Using fake skincare can cause various skin problems because it generally has unclear ingredients, is not officially registered, or contains dangerous ingredients, such as mercury, high doses of hydroquinone, and steroids. In some cases, products like this can provide instant results, for example skin that looks whiter or smoother in a short time.
However, these effects usually do not last long. In fact, this fake skincare can risk damaging the skin’s natural protective layer or skin barrier.
When the skin barrier is damaged, the skin becomes more sensitive and susceptible to irritation. Symptoms can include redness, soreness, itching, dry and peeling skin, rashes appearing, and acne that gets worse.
In fact, there are also those who experience a burning sensation after using certain products. This condition often occurs because the skin is “forced” to receive too much active ingredient without time to recover.
