Dozens of Houses in Ciputat Damaged by Strong Winds

JAKARTA – The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that strong winds hit Sawah Baru Village, Ciputat, South Tangerang, on Tuesday 26 May 2026. The extreme weather affected 40 heads of families (KK).

Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari, said that based on an assessment by the South Tangerang City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the incident caused dozens of houses to suffer light to moderate damage.

“Dampak yang ditimbulkan meliputi dua unit rumah mengalami rusak sedang dan 38 unit rumah rusak ringan,” said Muhari, Thursday (28/5/2026).

Apart from strong winds, high intensity rain in the South Tangerang City area also caused flooding which submerged residential areas.
