Beast’s name was restored… Lee Ki-kwang “The highlights will continue”

Highlight member Lee Ki-kwang revealed the reason why he kept the current team name despite regaining BEAST’s trademark rights.

Soyou, Sandeul, Lee Ki-kwang, and Sung Han-bin appeared on JTBC’s entertainment show ‘Knowing Brothers’, which aired on the 2nd.

On this day, Lee Ki-kwang announced the news of the BEAST trademark agreement. “원래 (비스트) 노래는 부르고 있었는데 이름만 못 썼다. 협의가 잘 돼 이름까지 받아왔다”He said.

but “비스트 또는 하이라이트로 아무거나 활동해도 되는데 비스트로 활동한 게 7년이고 하이라이트를 9년 쓴 거다. (하이라이트를) 더 오래 쓴 거다”He said.

And then “멤버끼리 하이라이트 이름을 계속 쓰기로 했다”He explained.

Highlight debuted as a six-member boy group in 2009 as BEAST, but changed its name to its current name after leaving its previous agency, Cube Entertainment, in 2017 to establish its own agency.

Highlight reached an agreement with Cube Entertainment to use the BEAST trademark in April 2024.
