JAKARTA – Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa reprimanded the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) following plans to investigate participants in the Voluntary Disclosure Program (PPS) or tax amnesty volume II. This step was taken to reduce public concerns while providing legal certainty for taxpayers.
Purbaya confirmed that the plan to re-examine taxpayer assets which were allegedly not fully disclosed in the PPS program would not be continued. Purbaya emphasized the importance of maintaining a conducive business climate and public trust in the tax authorities.
“Jadi itu enggak akan dilakukan lagi. Saya akan tegur DJP agar selalu menjaga iklim usaha dan memberikan kepastian hukum kepada masyarakat sehingga kepercayaan wajib pajak dan keberlanjutan informasi perpajakan tetap terjaga dengan baik,” said Purbaya in a media briefing at his office, Monday (11/5/2026).
Considering that the PPS program has officially ended in 2023, Purbaya emphasized that the government will no longer bring up or dig up old information regarding the tax amnesty.
For entrepreneurs and individuals who have participated, Purbaya appealed to them to focus on carrying out normal business activities and paying tax obligations according to current income.
This policy was taken as a form of protection for taxpayers who have good faith in participating in the government’s forgiveness program so that there is no confusion in information in the field.
