The 13th Buan Masil Festival, a representative festival of the Buan region in Jeollabuk-do, will be held in the Haedeulmaru Regional Garden from the 2nd to the 5th of next month. The key is to move beyond simple viewing to a win-win festival that aims to promote stay-in tourism and revitalize the local economy at the same time.
According to Buan County on the 19th, this festival will consist of a variety of experience and performance programs that capture the atmosphere and leisure of Buan based on the traditional culture of ‘Masil’. In particular, we focused on deriving practical economic effects through content utilizing local resources and a commercial district linkage strategy.
The opening and closing ceremony performance lineup has also been significantly strengthened. The opening ceremony, held on a special stage at Haedeulmaru Local Garden, will feature performances by Fifty Fifty, Lim Chang-jeong, Enoch, and Somyeong, and at the closing ceremony, trot singers such as Jinseong, Kim Taeyeon, and Ahn Seong-hoon will grace the stage. During the festival, special stages such as ‘Dream Orchestra’ and ‘Musical Gala Show’ will be prepared along with performances by Cherry Filter, Garam Hwang, etc.
This year, a story-type opening ceremony and participatory performance were introduced to increase visitor immersion. On the 5th, Children’s Day, family programs such as ‘Pororo Sing-Long Show’ are also operated.
Linkages with local commercial districts were also strengthened. At the ‘Buan ZIP’ within the festival site, a capsule event is held to randomly recommend local restaurants, and a ‘Golden Mon Event’, where gold bars are given when spending over a certain amount, is also held to encourage consumption in the region. In addition, we plan to increase the length of stay of visitors and spread the tourism effect through stay-type tourism programs such as ‘Neighborhood Village Tour’ and ‘Find the Best Drink’.
In addition, a large number of participatory contents are operated, such as mission-type stamp tours, Haedulmaru Masil Parade, local food barbecue experience, and natural playground. At night, night programs using landscape lighting and photo zones, small-scale amusement facilities, and performances will be held, making it a festival that can be enjoyed both day and night.
A Buan-gun official said, “Through this festival, we will build a new model that connects local tourism and commercial districts and develop it into a sustainable festival brand.”
