If you have been waiting to catch a glimpse of Belly and Conrad, the update is here. The makers of The Summer I Turned Pretty have shared the first official pictures of the pair from the set of the upcoming film. Belly and Conrad are played by Lola Tung and Christopher Briney, and the images were posted on Prime Video’s official Instagram page.

The post also confirmed that the film is now officially in production. The update has quickly drawn attention from fans, but it has arrived with a clear message as well. As filming continues in North Carolina, the team earlier asked viewers not to share the shooting location or visit the set, saying this was disrupting their work and creating safety concerns.

Prime Video post shares first look

The newly released image marked the first official look at Belly and Conrad from the film. In the picture, Tung and Briney are seen posing for a selfie. Prime Video shared the image with the caption, “Did you miss them? The Summer I Turned Pretty movie is now in production (sic).”

Makers ask fans to give the team space

The production update comes as several behind-the-scenes clips from the set circulated online. Fans were also spotted gathering near the shoot location. In a statement shared on May 5, the show’s official account said such visits were affecting filming and raising real safety concerns. A video posted with the statement showed the words “privacy please” written in the sand.

The caption read, “We love the excitement, but sharing locations and visiting set disrupts filming and creates real safety concerns for our cast and crew (sic).” It added, “We’re working hard to create a protected bubble to make the best movie possible. Please help us protect the magic of Cousins until it’s ready to be shared (sic).”

Author Jenny Han also addressed the issue on Instagram Stories. She wrote, “When people come to set, film, and share videos, it disrupts the work. It makes it harder for actors to get into character and causes unnecessary anxiety (sic).”

She added, “We often have to stop production to clear crowds from the shot, which breaks the crew’s focus.” Han further said, “This story means a lot to me, and I know it means a lot to you too. I want to give you the best version of this movie. Please help protect our process (sic).”

Final chapter of Belly’s story

This is not the first time the franchise has spoken about fan behaviour. Ahead of the show’s third season last year, Prime Video had urged viewers to “keep the conversation kind” and avoid online harassment of the cast.

The upcoming film is set to serve as the concluding chapter of Han’s bestselling trilogy. Plot details remain limited, but the story is expected to continue Belly’s journey after she chose Conrad over Jeremiah, played by Gavin Casalegno. The cast also includes Rain Spencer, Sean Kaufman and Rachel Blanchard.
