China: Taiwan most important in the relationship with the United States

The first meeting between the two world leaders Donald Trump and Xi Jinping has ended.

President Xi Jinping was quick to warn the US about Taiwan after the meeting.

– If the issue is not handled properly, the two countries may even end up in conflict, Xi said, according to state media.

The closely watched summit began with a two-hour closed-door bilateral conversation between China’s Xi and the US’s Trump – a meeting that dragged on and was reportedly marred by issues involving Taiwan, expanded trade and the leaders’ personal relationship.
