JAKARTA – The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) requested the take down of 2,639 electronic advertisements that do not comply with statutory provisions through cyber patrols on 21 electronic commerce platforms until March 2026.

Minister of Trade (Mendag) Budi Santoso said that the Ministry of Trade had asked to take down 95 merchant accounts in a number of market places that had displayed electronic advertising material that did not comply with the provisions three times over the period.

“Ketentuan yang dilanggar berkaitan dengan penjualan komoditas barang yang diatur, yaitu 1.731 iklan minuman beralkohol; 514 iklan bahan berbahaya; 124 iklan gula kristal rafinasi; 10 iklan pupuk bersubsidi; 257 iklan Minyakita serta tiga iklan alat-alat ukur, takar, timbang, dan perlengkapannya (UTTP),” said Budi in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday (28/5/2026).

Budi said that the government continues to strengthen trade supervision through electronic systems (PMSE), both offline and online. The firm steps taken include taking down the account and final sanctions in the form of being blacklisted and temporarily blocking PMSE services.

Until March 2026, the Ministry of Trade has carried out offline supervision of 104 PMSE business actors consisting of marketplaces, online retailers, classified ads, daily deals and traders.

“Sebagai langkah penegakan hukum, Kemendag telah menerbitkan 3.310 surat sanksi kepada pelaku usaha PMSE dalam empat periode pelaporan, yakni triwulan IV 2024 hingga triwulan III 2025,” said Budi.
