Actor Park Jun-gyu revealed his current status, saying that he is still repaying debts incurred from past musical production failures and fraud damage.
Park Jun-gyu and his wife Jin Song-ah appeared on MBN’s ‘Scoop World’, which aired on the 7th.
Park Jun-gyu and his wife announced that they were moving into a smaller monthly rental house after reorganizing the Seoul apartment they had lived in for 20 years. Park Jun-gyu said, “I have cleaned up my house and car. It is time to organize things step by step.” His wife, Jin Song-ah, added, “This house is also a monthly rental house, but I still feel grateful and fortunate.”
Park Jun-gyu said that he is currently helping his wife, who is working as a live commerce show host, with her financial activities. He said, “I suddenly became a full-time housewife. I try to help my wife, but I don’t enjoy doing housework every time.”
Park Jun-gyu mentioned the failure of musical production in the past as a background for economic difficulties. He recalled, “I produced a musical, but it went very poorly. I paid all the rental fees, but after about 15 to 20 episodes, there were no customers, so I ended up running at a loss, so I left the theater without performing,” and “that’s how things started to go wrong.”
Regarding the situation at the time, his wife, Jin Song-ah, said, “I stopped him from doing it. Not only did he invest, but he did the production itself,” and explained, “The two of us decided to invest jointly, but the contract that was in the company’s name was changed to my name. In the end, I ended up having to take responsibility for the investors’ money.”
He added, “I couldn’t even perform at all for a month. The rental fee continued to go up, and the only money I spent was about 1.2 billion won.”
Park Jun-gyu revealed that he is currently repaying his debt. He said, “It is not a problem that can be solved all at once, but I am working hard to pay it back,” and added, “I am trying to solve it somehow together with my wife.”
