Jang Dong-hyuk, leader of the People Power Party, criticized Rep. Park Seong-jun of the Democratic Party of Korea, who made a statement regarding the so-called ‘Special Prosecution Bill on Manipulated Indictments’ to the effect that a significant portion of the public does not know the meaning of indictment cancellation, saying, “You are ignoring and disparaging the public by a word that even a 95-year-old mother knows.”

On the 9th, CEO Jang, a former judge, introduced an anecdote about a recent meeting with his elderly mother on his Facebook page. Representative Jang said that his mother mentioned the controversy over the cancellation of indictments related to President Lee Jae-myung, so he asked her if she knew what that meant, and was told, “Are you ignoring me?”

This is a direct rebuttal to what Rep. Park Seong-jun said on a radio broadcast on the 6th, “8 to 9 out of 10 citizens do not know what indictment cancellation is.” Representative Jang criticized the opposition party’s perception, saying, “I only asked because Representative Park Seong-jun said that nine out of ten people do not know.”

Meanwhile, Representative Jang also criticized the government’s response to the fire incident on the Korean cargo ship ‘HMM Namu’ that occurred in the Strait of Hormuz. Representative Jang said, “It seems like the government is preparing to conclude that it is not an attack because it is not enough to prepare for it,” and added, “The world knows that Iran is a friend of North Korea, so is there anything that has been caught?”

Next, referring to President Lee Jae-myung’s past post about the Cheonan submarine collision theory when he was mayor of Seongnam, he said, “If things continue like this, they may say that the Namuho also collided with the submarine.”
